Winter in Brighton
I just came across this video and thought I’d share it with you. These were the frosty images of the last couple of years. Although I have to say its been very mild this winter, lets hope it stays that way.
We’re still open all year round and happy to put you up for a night or two and cook you a nice breakfast to set you up for the day. Give me a call and I’ll sort you out a good rate – Karl :}
Open day will be on 22nd January 2012 between 10.30 and 4.30.
For 200 years, John Nash’s extraordinary oriental fantasy, the Royal Pavilion, has been inextricably linked with the identity of Brighton.
It has provoked controversy, inspired fervent adulation and, throughout its colourful history, become one of the most instantly identifiable architectural images in the world.
It takes its unique character from the man for whom it was built, George IV, and its magnificent interior is a reflection of his personality and Regency reign. It was conceived as a monument to style, finesse, technological excellence and above all pleasure. It remains unequalled in its colossal ambition and glorious sense of joie de vivre.

Brighton Santa Dash
Sea Breeze would like to wish good luck to all the Santas taking part.
The Brighton Santa dash is on Saturday 10th December at 10.30am and is raising money for Passing it On. This charity helps to build schools in Africa. Some people may be facing a pretty tough Christmas this year. We reckon the least we can all do is chuck on a Santa suit, run 5km, raise some money and in doing so put a few more smiles on faces this Christmas.
The Brighton Santa dash race route is a nice flat one out and back run so this is a course to get that elusive PB on, just make sure you’re beard and Santa trousers are safely secured before take off.
The Adult Santa run Start and Finish line is 500 metres up from the Peace statue opposite Adelaide Crescent.
The course heads west up the Seafront Esplanade for 2.5k.Once you get to Hove Lagoon you turn around and head back to the Start / Finish line.
After its hugely successful debut last year, Brighton’s Royal Pavilion Real Ice Rink & Restaurant is back by popular demand and will open its twinkly gates on 12 November until 22 January.
Viewed by many as the most romantic and beautiful setting for a rink in the country, under an hour from Central London, it set a new standard in Christmas ice rinks for thousands of visitors last year.
With the former Royal pleasure palace as backdrop, the 800 square metre rink has space for 250 skaters per session and superb child-friendly facilities, with penguin stabilisers and learners’ area, as well as boots available in sizes from ‘just walking’ with double blades to safe blades for bigger kids.
The ‘après ice’ this year promises to be better than ever. The comfortable leather chesterfields and rustic seating in the bar and restaurant are perfect for watching the skating, whether you are dropping by for a drink after work or going on a Christmas outing with the family.
The food on offer ranges from cheese fondue and hearty home-made soups, to feasts fit for the Prince Regent, including oysters, sharing platters or even a whole roast suckling pig for parties of eight or more.
The bar will have a mouth-watering selection of cocktails specially designed by the in-house mixologist, local Sussex ales, premium lagers and ciders, as well as a comprehensive wine list, food-matched to the delicious menu. There will also be regular evening and weekend events, such as fondue nights, wine tastings, cocktail master classes and supper clubs and excellent Christmas party packages for as little as £25 per head.
Real footage of the ice skating at the Royal Pavilion
Royal Pavilion Ice Rink tickets cost from £10 for adults and £7 for children under 12 and the one-hour skate times run from 10am to 10.15pm daily, on sale online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 0844 847 2352.
Only 50 minutes on the train from London, Brighton is Christmas shopping heaven with the independent shops of The Lanes and North Laine on the Ice Rink’s doorstep, and Churchill Square shopping centre just five minutes’ walk away. The Royal Pavilion itself is also well worth a visit, built for the Prince Regent, later King George IV, it is remarkable for its exotic oriental appearance both inside and out and between October and March is open daily from 10am to 5.15pm.
One of our recent reviews: Sea Breeze Brighton
Providing an optional commentary guided tour of the heritage of Brighton & Hove. The Brighton Wheel will be opening in early Autumn 2011 and will be open all year round.
Supporters say the £6m Brighton O on Madeira Drive promenade will create 30 jobs and provide spectacular views from the top of the 197ft (45m) wheel.
It is hoped the attraction could be finished and open next month but some residents oppose the structure. Brighton and Hove City Council granted planning permission in April for the wheel in the East Cliff conservation area, near Brighton Pier. The final consent, to allow developers Paramount Attractions to build on Madeira Drive, was given last month.

The nip is in the air, the leaves are falling and the days are getting shorter. This can only mean one thing….. winter is on the way.
Brighton has been gearing up for winter, about £1m has been spent on seven gritters in a bid to speed up clearing snow and ice in Brighton and Hove. A fleet of seven old gritters, out of which three were 4×4, has been “retired”, the council said. The new vehicles are all 4×4 and include one smaller vehicle which will allow access to narrower lanes. It follows two severe winters in the UK. A Brighton Council review said the local authority received nearly 4,000 complaints over last year’s winter season.

Some prevoius Google Reviews are “The Hotel SeaBreeze, in Brighton - England , is a superb hotel! The entire establishment is extremely clean and the rooms are well-appointed. The SeaBreeze’s staff couldn’t be more helpful and pleasant. The concierge, Karl, is brilliant and truly understood the type of restaurant and activities my wife & myself were interested in. At the finest of restaurants, Karl was able to reserve the best tables for us. Breakfast at SeaBreeze is a true treat! The food selection was varied and delicious. They made sure that our early morning food experience was delightful. When we return to Brighton this is the only hotel we will reserve~!!!!” ”Paolo - Oct 8, 2011.
‘Our September 2011 visit to Brighton was wonderful. An important part of our successful trip was choosing SeaBreeze Hotel as our place to stay while in Brighton. It is a charming hotel with a dedicated staff who work very hard to make sure their guests are happy. My wife and I selected a basic room. The room was charming albeit a trifle small for two people. However the bathroom was very spacious with excellent amenities. My wife and I loved the decor of the entire hotel which is warm, comfortable and pleasing to the eye. We did not choose to have breakfast included but we did have one breakfast at the hotel and it was very good. If you are looking for a small and intimate hotel in Brighton, that provides first rate service, stay at SeaBreeze. I’m sure that you will not be disappointed.” Richard - Oct 8, 2011
