Sea Breeze would like to wish good luck to all the Santas taking part.

The Brighton Santa dash is on Saturday 10th December at 10.30am and is raising money for Passing it On. This charity helps to build schools in Africa. Some people may be facing a pretty tough Christmas this year. We reckon the least we can all do is chuck on a Santa suit, run 5km, raise some money and in doing so put a few more smiles on faces this Christmas.

The Brighton Santa dash race route is a nice flat one out and back run so this is a course to get that elusive PB on, just make sure you’re beard and Santa trousers are safely secured before take off.

The Adult Santa run Start and Finish line is 500 metres up from the Peace statue opposite Adelaide Crescent.

The course heads west up the Seafront Esplanade for 2.5k.Once you get to Hove Lagoon you turn around and head back to the Start / Finish line.

Ice skating Brighton

Viewed by many as the most romantic and beautiful setting for a rink in the country, under an hour from Central London, it set a new standard in Christmas ice rinks for thousands of visitors last year.

Supporters say the £6m Brighton O on Madeira Drive promenade will create 30 jobs and provide spectacular views from the top of the 197ft (45m) wheel.

It is hoped the attraction could be finished and open next month but some residents oppose the structure. Brighton and Hove City Council granted planning permission in April for the wheel in the East Cliff conservation area, near Brighton Pier.The final consent, to allow developers Paramount Attractions to build on Madeira Drive, was given last month.

Brighton has been gearing up for winter, about £1m has been spent on seven gritters in a bid to speed up clearing snow and ice in Brighton and Hove. A fleet of seven old gritters, out of which three were 4×4, has been “retired”, the council said. The new vehicles are all 4×4 and include one smaller vehicle which will allow access to narrower lanes. It follows two severe winters in the UK. A Brighton Council review said the local authority received nearly 4,000 complaints over last year’s winter season.

‘Our September 2011 visit to Brighton was wonderful. An important part of our successful trip was choosing SeaBreeze Hotel as our place to stay while in Brighton.
